Hardware¶
Welcome to the home of all things hardware.
Dev Boards¶
Each Daisy Devboard has the same limitless possibilities, but were designed with some specific things in mind.
The Daisy Seed¶
Use the Daisy Seed for:
- Designing with a breadboard
- Working with the Pod, Patch, or Field
- DIY hardware DSP builds
The Patch Submodule¶
Use the Patch Submodule for:
- Minimal hardware development time.
- Simplify your BOM.
- Easy assembly.
- Designing a Eurorack module 10HP or larger.
The Seed2 DFM¶
A function compatible successor to the original Daisy Seed, designed with manufacturability, quality, and cost in mind. Perfect for designing your next product.
Use the Seed2 DFM for:
- Maximum hardware flexibility.
- Low cost.
- Pinout supports displays, external audio codecs, and more.
- Designing high volume commercial products.
Daisy Evaluation Platforms¶
We made a few example applications for each board that let you explore the possibilities of writing code, and designing an instrument without having to get the hardware right on your first try.
These boards show off some of the features of what the Daisy can do in familiar form factors.
Each of these boards have their schematics available. So you can get started on your hardware as soon as you have an idea.
The Daisy Patch¶
A eurorack platform with OLED, and Quad Audio.
Use the Daisy Patch for:
- Designing a control voltage interface.
- Using Quad Audio IO with Daisy.
- Creating a Eurorack module.
- Integrating an OLED screen within a patching environment.
The Daisy Pod¶
A simple USB powered board with some pots, switches, and LEDs.
Use the Daisy Pod for:
- Simple DSP designs.
- Teaching DSP on Daisy.
- Immediate access to essential Daisy pins.
- Early proof of concept development.
The Daisy Field¶
A desktop synth with a button matrix, OLED, and tons of I/O.
Use the Daisy Field for:
- Desktop Synth and Sampler design.
- Integrating an OLED screen.
- Developing multi-button menu systems.
- Complex MIDI development.
The Daisy patch.Init()¶
A small eurorack module with CV inputs and outputs. Evaluation platform for the Daisy Patch Submodule.
Use the Daisy patch.Init() for:
- Designing Eurorack formatted applications.
- Minimal hardware development time.
- Creating powerful modular synth with minimalist interfaces
- Breakout access to essential modular parameters.
Seed2 DFM Dev Kits¶
We've designed the Seed2 DFM, and its compatible development kits, with the intention of designing mass produced devices in mind (Designed For Manufacturing).
Each development kit is tailored for a specific application, which hones the Seed2 DFM for industry leading performance while keeping production costs down.
Each development kit is open-sourced hardware (OSHW), and offers schematics and board files for you to use in your own Daisy developments.
The Seed2 DFM Eurorack Dev Kit¶
A 28hp eurorack-focused development kit for the Seed2 DFM.Includes quad audio IO, CV and Gate IO, and onboard electromechanicals for testing firmware parameters.
Use the Seed2 DFM Eurorack Dev Kit:
- Designing a control voltage interface.
- Using Quad Audio IO with Daisy.
- Creating a Eurorack module.
- Integrating an OLED screen within a patching environment.
The Seed2 DFM Effects Pedal Dev Kit¶
A featured development kit for Effects Pedal design featuring quality audio circuits, true bypass, and more.
Use the Seed2 DFM Effects Pedal Dev Kit for:
- Designing Daisy DSP with effects pedal hardware circuitry and peripherals.
- Prototyping effects pedals for commercial production.
- Working with MIDI IO in an effects pedal environment.
- Integrating an OLED screen within an effects pedal environment.
The Seed2 DFM Desktop Synth Dev Kit¶
A comprehensive development kit for desktop synth development, with CV IO, MIDI IO, and onboard electromechanicals.
Use the Seed2 DFM Desktop Synth Dev Kit for:
- Designing standalone electronic instruments.
- Prototyping semi-modular interfaces with DSP design.
- Testing firmware updates, alternate firmware, and developmental firmware.
- Integrating an OLED screen within a desktop synth environment.
